Tulsa Leads After Day One of the “Mo” Morial Invite

BRYAN, Texas — The Tulsa women's golf team sits atop the leaderboard after the opening round of the 22nd "Mo" Morial Invitational, hosted by No. 3 Texas A&M. The Golden Hurricane carded a 13-over par 301 through the first 18 holes to take a one-shot lead.
Tulsa leads a pair of SEC programs — No. 3 Texas A&M and Missouri — by one stroke after day one. The Aggies are the defending champions of the event. Tulsa also placed four golfers among the top 20 in a field of 83 players.

Allyn Stephens led the Golden Hurricane in the opening round, carding a 2-over par 74. She recorded birdies on holes five and fourteen and sits in eighth place after day one.
Samantha Olson followed with a 3-over par 75. Olson played her front nine at 1-over and added two strokes on the back nine to finish the round in 12th place.
Zoe Shamy and Jenni Roller are tied for 17th place after 18 holes, each posting a 4-over par 76. Shamy recorded her lone birdie on hole eight, while Roller tallied three birdies on holes four, eight, and fifteen.
Romaine Masserey rounded out Tulsa's lineup with a 6-over par 78 and is currently in 34th place.
Tulsa returns to action on Tuesday when they play in the second round of the "Mo" Morial Invitational. Tulsa will play with No. 3 Texas A&M and Missouri. Tee-times for this group will start at 10:10 a.m. and going every ten minutes off hole one.
