TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa (5-2-1) and Oral Roberts University (4-3-1) played to a 2-2 draw in the Mayor's Cup at Hurricane Soccer & Track Stadium on Thursday, with the home team netting one goal in each half.

Tulsa took an early lead in the first half against the Golden Eagles, with Blaine Schutte scoring in the 13th minute, assisted by Jordan Frederick, whose assist brought her to 20 points on the season. Oral Roberts responded with offensive pressure, recording several shots, but Tatum Sanders made crucial saves, including on attempts by Brianna Castleberry and Kiran Singh. The half ended with Tulsa maintaining a 1-0 advantage, as both teams committed several fouls throughout the half.

Tulsa and Oral Roberts engaged in a tense second half, with the score knotted soon after the start. The Golden Eagles equalized the game at 1-1 in the 61st minute with a goal from Kiran Singh, assisted by Brianna Castleberry. Tulsa quickly reclaimed the lead when Addison Castleberry scored her first career goal in the 63rd minute, assisted by Hannah Chance and Ady Bechtel, making it 2-1. This marked Bechtel's fifth assist of the season. However, Oral Roberts responded in the 89th minute with Brianna Castleberry finding the back of the net, assisted by Julia Thasaphong and Carys Torgesen, tying the game at 2-2 just before the final whistle. The match ended in a draw, reflecting a closely contested battle throughout the half.

Castleberry reflected on her first collegiate goal in Tulsa's match against Oral Roberts, saying, "I remember Hannah crossing it and me following through with it and being really excited... It feels like an adrenaline rush. It really gets you going for the season to score your first goal, and I think it'll be good from here."

Tulsa holds a 5-2-1 overall record after the draw. The Golden Eagles stand at 4-3-1 overall following the match. This game brings the series record between TU and ORU to 21-5-8, with Tulsa leading.
