Men's Tennis Opens Spring Season With Set of Doubleheaders

TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa men's tennis team is set to begin their spring season with a long weekend set of double headers. On Friday, Jan. 16, the Golden Hurricane will face off against Florida Gulf Coast (0-2) at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., and on Monday, Jan. 19, Tulsa will match up with UTRGV at 10 a.m. and Arkansas at 6 p.m, all hosted at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Scouting FGCU
  • FGCU and Tulsa have never met in men's tennis.
  • The Eagles are coming off a 4-0 loss to UCF and a 4-3 loss to Louisiana last weekend.
Scouting UTRGV
  • Tulsa and UTRGV have faced off twice in program history, in 1989 and 2009, with Tulsa taking both matches.
  • The Vaqueros are 0-2 entering the weekend, having lost to Arkansas and Rice to start the season. They have matches with Saint Joseph's, Oklahoma State and Saint Louis scheduled before traveling to Tulsa.
Scouting Arkansas
  • Monday marks the 29th meeting between the teams, dating back to 1977. The Razorbacks lead the series narrowly 15-14.
  • The teams met in the 2025 opening weekend as well, with Tulsa taking the match in a close 4-3 win.
  • Arkansas is 2-0 on the season, beating Rice and UTRGV in a double header on Jan. 10, 5-2 and 6-1, respectively. Arkansas has matchups against Florida Gulf Coast and Oral Roberts scheduled prior to their meeting with Tulsa this upcoming Monday.
