Expected Winter Weather Pushes Up JD Martin Invitational

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa track and field will travel to Norman, Okla., for the JD Martin Invitational, hosted by Oklahoma, on Jan. 22nd. The event was moved up in anticipation of potential winter weather this weekend, being originally scheduled for Friday, Jan. 23rd.
This event follows the Golden Hurricane's performance at the Thane Baker Invitational last Friday. Tulsa posted a strong showing, recording two meet records and two school records. The Golden Hurricane were led by Billie Rouse's meet-record victory in the invitational 800 meters, as she clocked a time of 2:09.77 to claim first place in a competitive field. On the men's side, Andrew Lutkenhaus also set a meet record, winning the 1,000 meters in 2:21.50.
Both school records came in the 600-yard event. Annie-May Cannings set a women's school record with a time of 1:20.72, while Evan Sanni-Thomas posted a men's school-record mark of 1:10.20.
Track events will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Mosier Indoor Track & Field Facility, with free admission for fans. Results will be available at TimingInc.com.
