Golden Hurricane Roll Past Oral Roberts 7-0

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa men's tennis earned a dominant 7-0 victory over Oral Roberts on Wednesday afternoon at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
The Golden Hurricane secured the doubles point behind wins on courts two and three. Nikita Volonski and Timothy Carlsson Seger cruised to a 6-2 victory over Cayden Cheek and Pijus Reklevicius, while Victor Tosetto and Ruben Fernandez followed with a 6-4 win against Jack Berry and Rodrigo Guijarro to clinch the point. The No. 1 doubles match was left unfinished at 4-4.
Tulsa carried the momentum into singles play, sweeping all but one match in straight sets. Connor Doig was first off the court with a decisive 6-1, 6-1 win over Guijarro at No. 4 singles. Ruben Fernandez quickly followed with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at the No. 3 position against Luis Marcos Bonifasi.
Calum Jestin added another point for the Hurricane with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Berry at No. 6, while Tosetto earned a 6-4, 6-4 decision over Reklevicius at No. 5. Volonski continued Tulsa's strong performance at the top of the lineup, defeating Ricardo Filho 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Carlsson Seger closed out the sweep with a hard-fought 5-7, 6-4, 10-3 victory over Parv Nage at No. 2 singles.
The Golden Hurricane will return to the court on Friday, Jan. 30 for their first away meet, travelling to Waco, Texas, to face Baylor at 6 p.m.
