Men’s Tennis Heads to Texas to Face Baylor and SMU

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa men's tennis hits the road for the first time in the 2026 season, traveling to Waco and Dallas to face No. 20 Baylor and SMU on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

The Golden Hurricane will take on the Baylor Bears on Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. before facing the Mustangs on Feb. 1 at 1 p.m.

Scouting Baylor
  • The ranked Bears are 3-1 on the season, with their lone loss coming to No. 8 San Diego in the season opener.
  • Baylor holds a commanding 15-3 advantage in the all-time series, including a 4-0 win in last season's most recent meeting.
  • Most recently, Baylor defeated Wisconsin 6-1, dropping just one match that was decided in a tiebreaker.

Scouting SMU
  • Tulsa is 14-16 all-time against SMU. The teams last met in the final regular-season match of 2024, when the Mustangs fell 4-1 in Tulsa.
  • SMU split its second week of competition, earning a 6-1 win over Louisiana after a 4-3 loss to Wisconsin.

Nikita Volonski and Timothy Carlsson Seger cruised to a 6-2 victory over Cayden Cheek and Pijus Reklevicius, while Victor Tosetto and Ruben Fernandez followed with a 6-4 win against Jack Berry and Rodrigo Guijarro to clinch the point.
