Five All-Time Marks Highlight Split-Squad Meets on Friday

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa split squads on Friday, sending distance runners to the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville and a sprint-heavy group to the Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg.
Tyson Invitational
In the men's university division, Levi Rowan claimed the title in 8:05.45, leading a strong Tulsa pack that saw Max Larson (9th, 8:12.65), Luke Lambert (12th, 8:15.78), James Knockton (13th, 8:15.90), Joseph Stoddard (18th, 8:18.96), Joseph O'Connell (25th, 8:23.52) and Micah Blomker (29th, 8:25.39) all post competitive times in a deep field.
On the women's side, Sara Morefield delivered one of the top performances in school history, finishing second in the university division with a 9:26.53, good for fourth all-time at Tulsa. Matilda Laidlaw (12th, 9:39.94) and Kathryn Koonts (13th, 9:39.99) crossed the line just fractions apart, while Ailey Mitchell added a 10:23.56 effort.
The championship men's 3,000 meters served as a highlight of the night. Ben Brown (7:52.57), Luke Birdseye (7:52.94) and Charlie Krasnoff (7:54.04) finished seventh, eighth and ninth, respectively, with all three etching their names into the record book. Brown now ranks seventh in program history, Birdseye ninth and Krasnoff 11th, as the trio dipped under 7:55 in a fast race.
In the 800 meters, Andrew Lutkenhaus led the men's university section with a 1:49.53 for eighth place, followed by Joseph Snyder (1:50.51), Jiri Ceska (1:51.39) and Richard Matthews (1:54.27). On the women's side, Grace MacDonald clocked 2:11.64, while Billie Rouse finished in 2:14.30.
Evan Sanni-Thomas added a 46.92 performance in the men's 400 meters to round out the day in Fayetteville.
Gorilla Classic
In Pittsburg, the middle-distance group shined. Colin Madison won the men's 600 yards in 1:10.44, a mark that moves him to second all-time in school history. Luke Finzen followed with a fifth-place finish in 1:13.03.
In the sprints, Alexis Cavin placed seventh in the women's 200 meters (24.61), while Tyler Priest doubled back from the 60 meters, where he finished 13th in 6.90, to run 22.17 in the 200. Harrison Stapleton crossed the finish line in 22.24 seconds.
Isabella Famigiletti competed in three events, finishing 22nd in the 60 meters (7.78) and matching that place in the long jump with a mark of 5.30 meters.
Tulsa will continue competition at both meets tomorrow. Action in Fayetteville begins at 11 a.m. and races get underway at noon in Pittsburg.
