Tulsa Crowns Multiple Champions on Final Day at American Indoor Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After opening the meet yesterday with four medals on day one, Tulsa took home four events titles and four additional medals on the final day of the American Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Ala., today. The Golden Hurricane men finished the event in fourth with 93 points, while the women placed eighth with 51.
Sean Korsmo delivered one of the highlights of the meet in the men's mile, racing to the conference title in a meet-record 4:02.99. On the women's side, Billie Rouse captured gold in the 800 meters with a personal-best 2:08.14, moving to third in program history. Sara Morefield added another standout performance to her weekend, winning the 3,000 meters in 9:23.93 with a personal best that ranks fourth all-time at Tulsa. In the men's 3,000, Levi Rowan surged to the title in a career-best 8:03.23 to secure the title.
The men's 800 final was another major moment for Tulsa. Andrew Lutkenhaus finished second in a school-record 1:48.01, while Joseph Snyder took bronze in a personal-best 1:49.73 that ranks third in program history. The Golden Hurricane claimed the entire podium in the men's 3,000, as in addition to Rowan's win, Ben Brown earned silver (8:03.49) and Luke Birdseye claimed bronze (8:03.72).
Tulsa added several scoring performances across the board. Sarah Hosey (6th) and Matilda Laidlaw (7th) both placed in the women's mile, while Graham Stevener took seventh in the men's mile. Evan Sanni-Thomas finished sixth in the 400 meters with a 47.12 that ranks third in program history, and Annie-May Cannings placed eighth in the women's 400. Grace MacDonald (5th) and Hannah Taylor (8th) scored in the women's 800, while Jiri Ceska added a sixth-place finish in the men's 800.
The distance depth continued to shine in the 3,000-meter races, with Kathryn Koonts placing sixth on the women's side and a tight pack of Charlie Krasnoff (6th), James Knockton (7th) and Joseph Stoddard (8th) leading the men's scoring efforts.
