Olson Named American Women’s Golfer of the Week

IRVING, Texas – Sophomore Samantha Olson has been named the American Conference Player of the Week, the American Conference announced on Thursday afternoon. This is the first time in her career that she has earned American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week honors.
Olson is the first player to win this award for Tulsa since April 5, 2023, when Lilly Thomas earned Women's Golfer of the Week honors.
Playing in her first tournament of the spring season, Olson led the Golden Hurricane at the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara. At the event, Olson earned her first top five collegiate finish as she finished tied for 2nd place. She finished the event three-under par 213.
She opened the tournament with a round of three-under par 69, her second round in the 60s for Tulsa this season. She shot two rounds under par at the tournament, including going one-under par 71 in the final round.
Olson and the Golden Hurricane returns to action on Monday, Feb. 23, at the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate hosted by North Florida. The event will be held at Jacksonville Golf and Country Club.
