Women’s Golf Sits in Sixth After Day One of GameAbove Golf Invite

ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. — The Tulsa women's golf team headed west to compete in the GameAbove Golf Invitational, which saw five teams in the top 25, and after the first 36 holes of the event, TU sits in sixth place.
Tulsa shot a two-round total of 13-over par 589 over the first two rounds. TU was one of two teams in the field to be under par in the first round of the tournament. Host No. 2 Southern California leads the field at 13-under par 563. To view the complete leaderboard, click here.
As a team, Tulsa had the fourth-most bridies on the first day of the tournament, with 25.
Leading the Golden Hurricane was Samantha Olson. She fired a two-under par 70 in the first round. She answered back and shot three-over 75 in the second round. For the tournament, she is one-over par 145 and tied for eighth place.
Tulsa's next four golfers find themselves tied for 28th at six-over par 150 after the first 36 holes.
Zoe Shamy fired a first-round score of two-under par 70. This was her sixth round under par on the season. However, she shot an eight-over-par 80 in the second round. She is tied with Romaine Masserey and Shamy, after shooting a round of one-over par 73 and a five-over par 77.
Also tied with Shamy and Masserey are Jenni Roller and Allyn Stephens. Roller was two over par 74 in the first round. She fired a four-over par 78 in the second round to be tied at 28th. Stephens shot four-over 76 in the first round and followed with her best round of the day at two-over par 74 in the second round.
Tulsa returns to action on Tuesday, March 10, when they play the final round of the GameAbove Golf Invitational at Rolling Hills Country Club. Tulsa will play the final round with #3 Oregon and SMU. TU will start at 10 a.m., have its last tee time at 10:44 a.m., and be off hole one.
