
Sanni-Thomas Wins 400m to Lead Tulsa at Bryan Clay Invitational

AZUSA, Calif. – Tulsa distance and middle-distance runners delivered competitive performances at the Bryan Clay Invitational, highlighted by a race win and multiple top-15 finishes against the deep national field.
On the men's side, Evan Sanni-Thomas led the way with a first-place finish in the 400 meters, clocking a winning time of 46.12 to set a school record in the event. In the 1500 meters, Tulsa placed three runners inside the top 35, led by Brady Korsmo's 11th-place finish in 3:45.64. Luke Birdseye followed in 33rd (3:47.45), while Graham Stevener crossed in 63rd with a time of 3:44.59. Sean Korsmo added a 3:51.89 effort.
Shay McEvoy turned in a strong showing in the 10,000 meters, finishing 15th in 28:30.30, with Joseph Stoddard placing 21st in 30:01.60. Birdseye also notched a top-10 performance in the 3000-meter steeplechase, taking eighth in 8:47.16. In the 800 meters, Andrew Lutkenhaus led Tulsa with a time of 1:49.61, while Joseph Synder followed in 1:51.26.
On the women's side, Billie Rouse paced the Hurricane in the 1500 meters with a 13th-place finish in 4:26.93, while Sarah Hosey placed 49th in 4:29.01. Rouse also competed in the 800 meters (2:14.44), alongside Hannah Taylor (2:11.19) and Grace MacDonald (2:11.70).
Matilda Laidlaw recorded a solid performance in the 5000 meters, finishing 31st in 16:43.19, while Robyn Kowalski placed 18th in the 10,000 meters with a time of 35:02.05. In the 3000-meter steeplechase, Sara Morefield led Tulsa with a 13th-place finish in 10:03.02, followed closely by Kathryn Koonts in ninth at 10:19.14.
