
Golden Hurricane Post Multiple School Records at John McDonnell Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Tulsa track and field turned in a strong showing at the John McDonnell Invitational, with multiple event victories, two school records and several all-time top-five performances.
On the men's side, Tulsa's distance group controlled the meet. James Knockton led a dominant 5,000-meter showing with a winning time of 14:17.89, followed closely by Joseph O'Connell in second (14:27.35). Max Larson (fourth, 14:45.96) and Graham Mitchell (seventh, 14:59.18). In the steeplechase, Brady Korsmo took the win in 8:57.64, moving to 13th in program history, while Walker St. John (fourth, 9:28.07) and Luke Lambert (sixth, 9:31.40) gave Tulsa three top-six finishes.
Tulsa's middle-distance group also made a statement. Joseph Snyder placed second in the 800 meters with a 1:48.60, the fifth-fastest time in school history, while Charlie Krasnoff ran 3:41.65 in the 1,500 meters to finish third and move to fourth all-time at Tulsa.
In the sprints and hurdles, Colin Madison highlighted the weekend with a school-record 50.80 to win the 400-meter hurdles. The 4x400-meter relay team of Madison, Snyder, Evan Sanni-Thomas and Harrison Stapleton followed with another record-setting performance, placing fifth in 3:08.21. Stapleton (47.60) and Luke Finzen (48.22) turned in solid 400-meter efforts, while Tyler Priest led the short sprints with times of 10.72 in the 100 and 22.05 in the 200.
On the women's side, Tulsa showed depth across events. Annie-May Cannings led the 400-meter group with a seventh-place finish in 54.02, followed by Alexis Cavin (12th, 55.41) and Cahsia Page (23rd, 56.57). In the 1,500 meters, Alexandra Johnson (4:38.26), Evyn Humphrey (4:39.43), and Sylvia Schwedler (4:40.88) finished ninth through 13th in a tight pack.
Kamree Dye paced the 200 meters for Tulsa with a 24.45 finish, while Isabella Famiglietti doubled back to run 11.95 in the 100 and 24.93 in the 200. In 400 m hurdles, Lianne Holtermann (1:01.34) and Jaylin VonWald (1:02.42) posted top-15 finishes.
Tulsa's relay squads finished fourth in the women's 4x400 (3:42.43), while the men's 4x100 (41.36) and women's 4x100 (46.24) turned in competitive efforts.
The Golden Hurricane return to action next weekend, competing at the Payton Jordan Invitational and the Sooner Invitational on May 1 and 2, respectively, to wrap up the outdoor regular season.
