Lenka Broosova joined The University of Tulsa women’s tennis staff in June 2014. Over the last five seasons, Broosova has helped lead Tulsa to three American Athletic Conference Championships and four NCAA Tournament appearances.
Broosova has made an impact on the team’s performance in her time at TU. The Golden Hurricane have posted a 96-40 (.706) record, won three American Athletic Conference Championships, earned bids to four NCAA Tournaments, including the program’s first appearance in the Sweet Sixteen. She has also helped with the development of Martina Okalova and Vera Ploner, who became the second and third players in program history to earn All-America honors in 2019.
During the 2017-18 campaign, she helped the Hurricane compile a 23-6 overall record, its third American Athletic Conference title in four years and the team’s first appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16 in program history. The appearance also marked the 12th consecutive in the national tournament for the Golden Hurricane team.
She assisted the 2016-17 team to a 20-8 record, second place in the American Athletic Conference and the program’s 11th consecutive appearance at the NCAA Championships.
In 2015-16, the Golden Hurricane won their second consecutive conference championship while compiling a 22-5 overall record. In her first year as an assistant, the Hurricane posted a 16-11 record and won the American Athletic Conference in their inaugural season as members.
Broosova was a four-year tennis letterwinner at Baylor University from 2007-10. She posted an overall 154-28 (.846) singles record and 103-36 (.741) doubles mark in her four seasons. Broosova earned Big 12 all-conference honors in singles and doubles in each of her four years, while leading the Bears to four Big 12 Championships.
As a freshman, Broosova was named the ITA Regional Rookie of the Year in 2007, as she compiled an overall 37-8 singles mark and turned in a doubles record of 25-11. As a senior in 2010, Broosova led the Bears to its first No. 1 ranking in school history, while earning Big 12 Player of the Year honors that season.
In NCAA Championship action, Broosova helped lead Baylor to the NCAA Championships each season, advancing to the Round of 16 in 2007, the Elite Eight in 2008 and 2010 and the Final Four in 2009. Individually, she advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight in singles competition in both 2009 and 2010, while advancing to the Doubles Final Four in 2009. Broosova was named an All-American for singles twice (2008, 2010) and was a three-time doubles All-American (2008, 2009, 2010).
Following her collegiate career, Broosova served as the director of tennis operations at Baylor from 2010-11. She also played professionally and won tournaments in Bolivia and Colombia.
A native of Banska Bystrica, Slovakia, Broosova graduated from Baylor with a bachelor’s degree in speech communication in 2010.
