TU Women's Tennis Runs Past Hawaii, 6-1

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The 32nd-ranked Tulsa women's tennis team captured five of six singles matches as well as two of the double contests to claim the doubles point and post a 6-1 victory over Hawaii in Honolulu.
Tulsa (7-1) began the contest with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles slots to secure the all-important doubles point. TU's 28th-ranked doubles tandem of senior Jennifer DeSpain and junior Jana Sedivec picked up their 17th win of the season with an 8-5 victory at the top position. The Hurricane's No. 2 duo of sophomores Aleksandra Durska and Marjolein van Dongen remained undefeated in spring matches with an 8-5 decision at the second spot. Hawaii won the third doubles match, 8-6.
After a brief intermission, Tulsa headed into singles play with a 1-0 lead. The Hurricane wasted no time in showing its dominance. Junior Bianca Posada was victorious at the top singles position in the lineup with her 6-3, 6-2 win over Hawaii's Lynn Novak.
Durska won her 20th singles contest of the season with a convincing 6-0, 6-1 final over Sofia Hoglund at the No. 2 singles slot. In just under two seasons, Durska has 48 career singles wins, which ranks eighth among TU's career leaders.
DeSpain, van Dongen and freshman Zoe Buhagiar each won their respective match to complete the route. The Rainbow Wahine chalked up its lone point of the match when Polina Kravets outlasted Sedivec at the No. 4 singles spot, 3-6, 7-6, 6-4.
