SMU Gets Past Golden Hurricane, 86-84, In OT

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Justin Isham tipped in a missed shot by Eric Castro with 1.5 seconds remaining in overtime to give Southern Methodist an 86-84 win over Tulsa on Saturday night.
The Mustangs (9-8, 4-3 Western Athletic Conference) led 70-64 with 12 seconds left in regulation, but Tulsa tied it on a 3-pointer by Jason Parker with 6.4 seconds left and three free throws by Parker with 3.3 seconds to play.
SMU's Byran Hopkins was called for traveling on the inbounds pass after Parker's 3-pointer, then Quinton Ross fouled Parker on a 3-point try to set up the tying free throws.
The Mustangs responded by scoring on all but one possession in overtime. Even so, Tulsa (11-5, 4-3) had a chance to take the lead late after a 3-pointer by Dante Swanson cut SMU's lead to 84-83 with 24 seconds left.
Patrick Simpson missed two free throws for SMU with 23 seconds left, then Tulsa's Antonio Reed was fouled while shooting with 8.3 remaining. He made the first to tie it, then missed the second.
Ross scored 25 for SMU, and Castro had 19 points and 11 rebounds. Hopkins had 16, Simpson 15 and Isham 11.
Parker led Tulsa with 19 points, follwed by Jarius Glenn with 17, Dante Swanson 16 and Kevin Johnson 12.
