Tulsa, Okla. - The 50th-ranked Tulsa women's tennis team crushed 68th-ranked Arkansas Wednesday night at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on The University of Tulsa campus.
Seniors Alicia Pillay and Aleksandra Durska, who combine as TU's No. 1 doubles team, defeated Simona Arghire and Anna Dybicz, 8-3, while Donata Majauskaite and Mariana Barrios defeated the Razorback's Melissa Cornett and Whitney Morton, 8-5, in the No. 2 doubles slot.
Tulsa's Durska and Daniela Muscolino posted impressive 6-0, 6-0 victories over Arkansas' Megan Ferreira and Monica Dybicz, respectively, at the No. 2 and No. 4 singles positions. Pillay posted a powerful victory over Arghire at the No. 1 slot with a 6-0, 6-2 victory, while Majauskaite earned a hard-fought victory with a 10-point tiebreaker to overcome Cornett, 7-5, 4-6, 10-6 at the No. 3 position.
