Tulsa, Okla. - The 53rd-ranked Tulsa women's tennis team upset 51st-ranked TCU, 4-3, on Friday night at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on The University of Tulsa campus.

TCU's 51st-ranked Paty Aburto and Rosa Perez upset Tulsa's 30th-ranked doubles tandem, Alicia Pillay and Aleksandra Durska, at the No. 1 doubles position, posting an 8-3 victory. TU's Mariana Barrios and Tiffany Smith also fell in the No. 2 position, as Karla Mancinas and Saber Pierce netted an 8-4 win to earn the Horned Frogs the doubles point. In the No. 3 position, Zoe Buhagiar and Daniela Muscolino fell 4-7, but fought back hard to earn an 8-7 victory for the Golden Hurricane over Ivonne Andrade and Brenna Shackelford.

In singles competition, Mancinas overcame Buhagiar 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 5 position, putting the Horned Frogs up 2-0, but TU fought back. Tulsa's 24th-ranked Pillay defeated 89th-ranked Aburto, 7-5, 6-4 in the No. 1 slot, while Durska defeated Perez 6-4, 6-1 in the No. 2 slot, tying up the score. In the No. 4 slot, Gloriann Lopez came back to put TCU ahead, as she defeated Smith 4-6, 6-2, 6-4, but Muscolino netted a point for the Golden Hurricane in the No. 3 slot with her 6-4, 7-6, victory over Pierce. Donata Majauskaite's match determined the victory as she defeated Iris Jaklin, 7-5, 5-7, 6-0, in the No. 6 position.
