RUSTON, La. (AP) - Wayne Powell, Donell Allick and Corey Dean had 16 points each to lead Louisiana Tech to a 70-62 victory over Tulsa Saturday night.
Paul Millsap added 13 points for the Bulldogs (7-4, 1-0 Western Athletic Conference) and grabbed 14 rebounds. Powell also pulled down 12 rebounds and Allick dished out seven assists before fouling out.
Tulsa (4-6, 0-1 WAC) got 17 points from Seneca Collins, 12 from Jarius Glenn and 11 from Jason Parker. Glenn and Parker had seven rebounds and three assists apiece.
The Bulldogs finished with a 44-35 lead in rebounding, shot 38.4 percent from the field and limited the Golden Hurricane to a 31.3 shooting percentage in the final half.
Tulsa led 30-25 at halftime, but struggled offensively in the second half, particularly during the final six and a half minutes when they managed only one field goal.
