Tulsa Women Golfers Place Eighth at the Stanford Intercollegiate

Junior Cas Bridge turned in a 13th place performance at the Stanford Women's Intercollegiate over the weekend.

Palo Alto, California - The Tulsa women's golf team finished in eighth place at the Stanford Women's Intercollegiate after carding a final round 298 on Sunday for an 884 total in the 18-team field at the par-70 Stanford Golf Course.

Tulsa junior Cas Bridge finished in 13th place overall with a final round two-over par 72, while shooting a 54-hole total of five-over par 215. Bridge was followed by a trio of newcomers for the Hurricane.

Tulsa's three freshmen placed among the top-41 golfers in the 92-participant field. Polly Travica had the best finish among the three newcomers with a 222 total for 31st place, while Michaela Cavener turned in a 223 total. Both women carded final round scores of 76 today. Leisl Hasbrouck, who had the second best score of the day for the Hurricane behind Bridge with a 74, finished in 41st place with a 224 total.

Sophomore Anna-Christina Kindgren had her best round of the tournament with a 77, and finished in 78th place with a 237 score.

Arizona State held onto the lead from day one and finished as tournament champions with an 852 score. Pepperdine placed second overall (857) and was followed by Washington (861), UCLA (862), Stanford (869), Washington State (870), New Mexico (881), Tulsa (884), Arizona (887) and Texas (892) rounding out the top-10 teams.

Washington State's Anastasia Kostina claimed first-place individually with a five-under par 205 total.

Tulsa will conclude the fall campaign at the 2004 Landfall Tradition, October 29-31, in Wilmington, North Carolina.
