Tulsa Women Golfers in 7th Place at Mercedes-Benz Championship

Knoxville, Tennessee - The Tulsa women's golf team carded a round of 306 on Saturday and sits in seventh place with a 36-hole total of 603 in the 17-team field at the Mercedes-Benz Championship.

Tulsa dropped three spots, from fourth to seventh place, after two rounds at the par-71 Cherokee Country Club. Ohio State moved into first place with a round 287 for a 12-over par 580 score, while first round leader Arkansas dropped into a three-way tie for fourth place. Tulane is in second place with a 589 score, followed by Kent State (598), LSU, Tennessee and Arkansas (599) in a tie for fourth place, then followed by the Hurricane.

Hurricane freshman Michaela Cavener had the best round of the day for Tulsa with a three-over par 74, and her 147 two-round score puts the Ponca City, Oklahoma resident in a three-way tie for ninth place.

Fellow freshman Leisl Hasbrouck, Tulsa's leader after the first round with a one-over par 72, carded a round of 79 today and is in 28th place with a 151 total. Junior Cas Bridge turned in a 77 today for a 152 total and is in 32nd place overall. Sophomore Anna-Christina Kindgren and senior Lee-Anne Pace are tied for 48th place with 155 totals. Pace carded a round of 77 on Saturday, while Kindgren scored a round of 78.

In the individual race, Tennessee's Violeta Retamoza has a one-stroke lead with a two-under par score of 140.

The tournament will conclude on Sunday with the final 18 holes.
