Tulsa, Okla. - Tulsa's 51st-ranked women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to 17th -ranked Tulane on Sunday afternoon at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on The University of Tulsa campus.

Ilona Somers tallied a win for Tulsa with her 6-4, 6-2 mark over 32nd-ranked Julie Smekodub in the No. 3 slot.

TU's (9-5) 42nd-ranked doubles tandem of Daniela Muscolino and Ilona Somers fell 8-5 to the Green Wave's (14-1) Nancy Kockott and Julie Smekodub in the No. 1 position. The Golden Hurricane's Zoe Buhagiar and Kindsay Grimes dropped an 8-2 decision in the No. 2 slot, while Santie Delport and Donata Majauskaite fell 8-3 in the No. 3 position.

In singles action, Somers tallied a win for Tulsa with her 6-4, 6-2 mark over 32nd-ranked Smekodub in the No. 3 slot. TU's 61st-ranked Muscolino dropped a 6-2, 6-3 decision to Maria Ivanov in the No. 1 position, while Lisette Pereira fell in the No. 4 slot to Tulane's 65th-ranked Darya Ivanov.
