Tulsa Women's Tennis Team Falls, 5-2, to Oklahoma

Tulsa, Okla. - Tulsa's 55th-ranked women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to 17th-ranked Oklahoma on Wednesday afternoon at the OU Headington Family Tennis Center in Norman, Oklahoma.
 The Golden Hurricane's 47th-ranked doubles tandem of Daniela Muscolino and Ilona Somers (pictured) earned an 8-4 upset victory over the Sooners' 13th-ranked duo, Anda Perianu and Heather Saluri, in the No. 1 doubles position.  |

In singles competition, Tulsa's 86th-ranked Somers recorded a, 7-5, 6-2, win in the No. 3 slot, as Pereira chalked up a 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 comeback victory in the No. 4 position to earn the only points for the Golden Hurricane. Oklahoma's sixth-ranked Perianu overtook TU's 75th-ranked Muscolino, 6-3, 6-4, in the No. 1 slot.
The Golden Hurricane will be in action again on Saturday, as TU hosts Texas Tech beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on The University of Tulsa campus.
