PROVO, Utah (AP) - Trent Plaisted scored 16 points led a balanced Brigham Young offense in a 68-49 victory over Tulsa on Friday night.

Leading 24-16, BYU (8-3) outscored Tulsa 14-3 over the final 5 minutes of the first half before Chris Wallace's basket at the buzzer broke the run and helped the Golden Hurricanes get within 38-21.

Tulsa (4-7) went without a field goal for the first 11 minutes of the game and finished the half shooting 5-for-17.

Tulsa had 16 turnovers in the opening half and finished with 23. BYU scored 24 points off the turnovers.

Bishop Wheatley of Tulsa made two free throws to open the second half before BYU went on a 9-0 run to go up 47-23. Plaisted and Brock Reichner each had two baskets during the run, including a 3-pointer by Reichner.

The Cougars largest lead of the game was 54-27.

Fernando Malaman added 10 points for BYU.

Brett McDade had 11 points for Tulsa, which shot 30 percent for the game.
