Tulsa Women's Tennis Wins Third Straight Match

Lawrence, Kan. - The No. 72 ranked University of Tulsa women's tennis team returned to .500 for the first time since mid-February as it defeated the Kansas Jayhawks, 6-1. The Hurricane is now10-10 on the season.
TU dominated as it won five of the six singles matches played. No. 77-ranked Daniela Muscolino defeated Elizaveta Avdeeva in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2. Carla Zabaleta posted a 6-4, 6-2 win over Christine Skoda. Lisette Pereira beat Brittany Brown, 6-2, 6-3.
Santie Delport and Timberly Greenly both won singles matches for TU as well.
In doubles, Tulsa won two of the three matches for the doubles point. Muscolino and Zabaleta paired up to beat Lauren Hommell and Skoda, 8-4, while Tiffany Smith and Delport beat Luiza Loureiro and Ashley Filberth, 8-4 as well.
The Tulsa women close out the regular season at home this weekend. They host Houston at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and #48 Virginia Commonwealth at 12 noon on Sunday.
