Las Cruces, N.M. - Sophomore Kassiana Urnau posted 14 kills to go along with 11 digs to help lead the Golden Hurricane to a 3-1 (30-22, 33-31, 30-20, 30-19) victory over Texas-Pan American at the New Mexico State Tournament in Las Cruces, N.M.

The win was TU's second over the Lady Broncs in eight days. Both teams were part of the Hurricane Invitational last weekend, with the Hurricane winning that match 3-0 (30-17, 30-21, 30-16).

Tulsa owned a 66-54 advantage in kills, helped by a trio of Hurricane players in double-digits in kills. Junior Amy Meyer recorded a team-best 15 kills, in addition to Urnau's 14 kills. Senior Dana Weddle also posted 10 kills.

Sophomore Julia Silva continues to improve in a Hurricane uniform. Each match this season as seen an increase in assists from the setter, including a season-high 52 against UTPA. She also added two service aces and nine digs to go along with three blocks. As a team, the Hurricane posted eight blocks while senior Dana Weddle and junior Germana Hilario both added five blocks apiece.

Tulsa improves to 5-1 on the season and will travel to North Texas on Wednesday, Sept. 7. It will be the 17th meeting between the Mean Green and TU, with the Hurricane owning a 10-6 advantage. The Golden Hurricane will return to the friendly confines of the Donald W. Reynolds Center on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9-10 to host the Crowne Plaza Invitational.
