Delport and Zabaleta Advance to Quarterfinals at Regional

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa's Santie Delport and Carla Zabaleta each picked up wins to advance to the quarterfinals at the Wilson/ITA Central Region Championships.
Delport used a 7-6 (4), 2-6, 7-5 win over Wiveca Swarting of Nebraska to make the quarterfinal. In the quarters, she will face Iryan Tkchenko of Oklahoma State. Earlier in the day she defeated Iowa State's Jill Palen 6-2, 6-1.
Zabaleta picked up a straight-set, 6-1, 7-5 win over Irina Lykina of Oklahoma to move onto the quarters. Earlier in the day she grabbed a 6-1, 6-2 win over Outi Jarvinen of Arkansas-Little Rock. She will now face Maryori Franco of Arkansas, who upset the No. 2 seed in the round of 16.
Play will continue on Saturday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
