Agostina Santoro picked up Tulsa's lone singles win versus Wichita State.

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa women's tennis team (9-1) hit its first bump in the road this season when it dropped a 4-1 decision to No. 50 Wichita State on Friday evening at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Tulsa, ranked No. 49 in the nation, lost just its second doubles point of the season and were unable to recover.

Kindsay Grimes and Carla Zabaleta picked up TU's lone doubles win, 8-1, at the two position over the Shocker's Stephanie Dalmacio and Anna Egorova.

WSU grabbed wins at the one and the three position to put the Golden Hurricane down 1-0.

Tulsa fell behind 2-0 when Grimes droppes a 6-1, 6-2 matchup at the one position to Madina Rakhim, but Agostina Santoro closed the gap to 2-1 with a 7-6 (4), 6-0 win at the five spot.

The Shockers moved ahead 3-1 on a 6-4, 6-4 win by Dalmacio over Thalia Diaz-Barriga.

The match clincher came when Santie Delport was unable to stave off WSU's Florentina Hanisch, falling 6-3, 7-6 (5) to give the Shockers the 4-1 win.

Tulsa will be back in action on February 24 when it hosts Lamar at 9 a.m. at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
