Tulsa Women Take 5-2 Win Over New Mexico

Tulsa, ranked No. 47 in the nation, won the doubles point to take the early 1-0 lead. Kindsay Grimes and Carla Zabaleta grabbed an 8-3 decision over Ola Abu-Zekry and Lucy Scott, while Thalia Diaz-Barriga and Jie Zeng took an 8-4 win over Maria Sotirchos and Jennifer Ryba. Santie Delport and Marta Marcinkowska completed the sweep with an 8-6 win over Nora Quintal and Mackenzie White.
In singles play, the Hurricane picked up a win at the two position when Santie Delport took a 6-0, 6-4 win over the Lobo's Mackenzie White.
Tulsa followed kind in the three spot with Zabaleta collecting a 6-1, 6-3 win over Sandra Zmak.
The Hurricane clinched the win with a win in the four hole as Diaz-Barriga 5-7, 6-1, 7-5 win over UNM's Lucy Scott.
TU pushed the final to 5-2 when Agostina Santoro posted a 6-4, 6-1 win over Sitorchos.
Tulsa will be back in action on March 10 when it faces Kansas State at 10 a.m. in Manhattan, Kan.
