Tulsa Head Coach Doug Wojcik:
Opening statement...
"That was a great win for us in front of great home-crowd atmosphere. I thought it was an outstanding defensive effort by everybody, in particular Ray Reese. I also thought Bishop Wheatley was outstanding, and we brought a lot of help to slow down Aubrey Coleman. Kelvin Lewis was very good tonight, he had six points at the half and then really got going in the second half. I'm really proud of the guys, they have 19 wins so far this season."

On Jerome Jordan's free throws down the stretch...
"He's an outstanding free throw shooter, so in the half-court we use him as the pressure release. We know he's going to be doubled, and in the back-court we bring him up as a safety valve, just in case we need to throw it up to him. He hit 10 out of 13 from the line, and we need that."

On Ray Reese's defensive effort ...
"I thought he was outstanding and did a great job tonight. We looked at Coleman and Lewis in a similar way to the kids at UTEP, Culpepper and Jackson. Ray's a big guy at 6-foot, 5-inches, and I'm going to miss him because he has become an outstanding defender."

Houston Head Coach Tom Penders:
Opening statement...
"It was a battle tonight. The kids played their hearts out on both teams and I felt like they shot the ball a little bit better than we did. We kept making runs at them but we just couldn't crack that barrier. I thought that we had to get the lead and make them chase us a little bit for us to win the ball game. They did a good job of making their free throws, because we put them at the line. Tulsa did a lot of good things to close out the game."
