Tulsa Women's Tennis Tames Tigers, 6-1

TULSA, Okla. - Alexandra Kichoutkin, Anastasia Erofeeva and Rebecca Row all earned their 20th singles wins of the season as the 37th-ranked Tulsa women's tennis team defeated LSU, 6-1, on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
The Hurricane improves to 14-5 on the season, while the Tigers fall to 6-10.
Tulsa jumped on the board first by winning the doubles point with victories in all three positions.
Rebecca Row and Michelle Farley ousted Kylie Adamek and Nicole Kantor, 8-2, in the No. 3 spot, followed by Anastasia Erofeeva and Ewa Szatkowska defeating Keri Frankenberger and Hannah Robinson, 8-3, in the No. 2 position. 35th-ranked Alexandra Kichoutkin and JoAnne Karaitiana battled from an early deficit to knock off Kaitlin Burns and Whitney Wolf, 8-7 (4), in the No. 1 position.
The Tigers quickly responded in singles with a win from Keri Frankenberger over Ewa Szatkowska, 6-2, 6-1, in the fourth flight to tie the match at 1-1, but the Hurricane controlled the match the rest of the way winning the remaining five matches.
95th-ranked Alexandra Kichoutkin defeated Whitney Wolf, 6-3, 6-0, in the top position to earn her 20th win of the season. Michelle Farley followed with a 6-2, 6-1 decision over Kylie Adamek in the No. 6 position.
Rebecca Row won her 11th-straight match as she clinched the TU win with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Ebie Wilson in No. 5 singles. The win moves her overall record to 20-4 on the season and a remarkable 15-1 in duel action.
Anastasia Erofeeva became the third Hurricane player to earn her 20th singles win of the season with a 6-2, 6-4 decision over Nicole Kantor in No. 3 singles.
JoAnne Karaitiana closed out the match with a 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) win over Kaitlin Burns in No. 2 singles.
The Hurricane hits the road this weekend to face Louisville and No. 41 Marshall in Louisville, Ky. Tulsa plays Louisville at Noon Saturday and Marshall at 10:00 a.m. Sunday.
