Tulsa Head Coach Doug Wojcik
Opening Statement...
"Well, it was a heck of a win for us. At times I think a lucky win, but let's give the kids credit. Justin hit an incredible big shot after we got ourselves in a tough position. He came through when we needed him. We actually had a chance to win it in regulation, but found a way to win it in overtime, which I thought we could do because of their foul trouble. We grinded it out, got defensive stops and guarded the ball screens very well from the 10-minute mark of the game to the end. There were a lot of positives. We did a great job on the glass and took care of the basketball for the second straight game."

On rebounding...
"Really over the last three games if you look at our shooting percentage we shouldn't have won, but what we did do was take care of the basketball and rebounded the basketball. Those two things have kept us in the game."

On Justin and Scottie's impact on building confidence in late game play...
"To have a guy that can make big shots, how many teams have that guy? Then I feel like I can go to Scottie if I needed to or I could go to Jordan Clarkson if I needed to for a game winner. We have some great options there. We've really grown. We've developed. We've won our last two overtime games, so we'll take it."

Tulsa Senior Guard Justin Hurtt
On his game winning three-pointer...
"Coach ran a play for me. I took a tough shot and I made it. I felt like it was going in from the time it left my hand."

On defeating Houston...
"It was a good win, we really needed it. It was a payback game since we had already lost to them on the road. It's our first three-game win streak of the year, so we're just really on a roll."

On being able to bounce back after the SMU loss...
"We really came together well. We gelled. The guys that needed to step up and produce more did."

On the confidence from the win...
"We're feeling really good right now. As I said the three-game winning streak, the time to rest and the chance to get some good practices in helped. We really feel good about ourselves right now."

Tulsa Sophomore Guard Scottie Haralson
On close games...
"We've had some late game thrillers. But I'll take them any day of the week as long as we get the win at the end of the game. We try to play with a lot of enthusiasm. We didn't really want it to be that close, but sometimes you've got to take what's given to you."

On confidence of team...
"We've got incredible confidence right now. We have two big wins--one against UTEP and one at Memphis. We got a big win here at home against Houston. Now we've got to go on the road. This conference is wide open. We can make a run here. We really feel that we're the team to beat."

Houston Head Coach James Dickey
Opening Statement...
"Let me congratulate Doug Wojcik and his ball club. They're really on a good roll. They've had some quality wins and they made some big plays today. I was really impressed by Justin Hurtt's shot. It was a big shot, and he hit it. I don't exactly know my geography, but it was someplace probably close to Okmulgee that he hit that shot from, but he made it. He's a great player. We talked about fouling. We probably fouled early at the end of the game, but we had three guys on the court with four fouls at that time--Mikhail McLean, Adam Brown and Zamal Nixon. We could have fouled, but elected not to, and he hits a big shot. Then we came down and had a turnover. The biggest thing in the game was the offensive board play by Tulsa. They did a great job on the boards. We couldn't get a rebound. They really kicked us on the boards. Today they had 43 points where we helped them. When I say that, that means that you give up second chances off of turnovers and off of offensive rebounds. You can't do that against anyone, especially a team that's hot like they are when they're playing at home. We had our chances and just didn't do it. I was proud of our defense and proud of the way our guys competed, but we just didn't rebound the basketball. They really dominated us on the glass."
