Adams joined the 30-dig club with a career-high 31 digs against Florida State. Henderson tallied 18 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Kellie Culbertson picked up a double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs for the Golden Hurricane (1-2). "Overall, our offense was pretty balanced. In different sets we had different players step up. We had different player step up all weekend, and now we just need to put it all together," Tulsa Head Coach Steven McRoberts said. "The story of the day was we gave up too many four- to six-point runs. We need to do a better job of making adjustments and not allowing teams to make big runs on us."
Tulsa hit .194 (51-21-155) with 51 kills, 47 assists, 77 digs and 3.0 blocks. Florida State, whose front row consisted of players all 6-foot one-inch or taller, hit .304 (56-11-148) with 56 kills, 51 assists, 74 digs and 12.0 blocks.
Junior outside hitter Diana Silva had eight kills and 11 digs, and junior defensive specialist Shelbi Pitcher added 12 digs for TU.
"I was proud of our players (vs. Kentucky). They showed heart and fought back and were right there at the end," said McRoberts.
