Golden Hurricane Sweeps Mavericks 7-0

TULSA, Okla. - The No. 20-ranked University of Tulsa women's tennis team swept UT Arlington 7-0 Sunday morning at Case Tennis Center.
The Golden Hurricane (6-1) has now won 29-straight matches at home, and the Mavericks fell to 3-3 this year.
Tulsa started by picking up the doubles point with wins on the first and second courts.
The senior doubles team of Anastasia Erofeeva and Ewa Szatkowska defeated Maria Martinez-Romero and Nikola Matovicova 8-2 at the top of the lineup. Senior Bonny Davidson teamed with sophomore Samantha Vickers to defeat Giada D'ortona and Natalia Mayuk 8-1 from the second spot.
The lone loss of the day for the Golden Hurricane came at No. 3 doubles, where junior Michelle Farley and freshman Isaura Enrique lost 7-5 to Verena Scott and Christine Foote.
Sophomore Maria Sant'Anna got TU started in singles action with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Liucija Smaizyte at the sixth spot.
Davidson dropped Foote 6-2, 6-1 at the fifth flight and Szatkowska won over D'ortona 6-3, 6-3 to clinch the team victory for TU at the third position.
Vickers, ranked 63rd in the nation, won her seventh-straight singles match with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Scott from the second position. Farley dropped Mayuk 6-3, 6-2 from the fourth spot to give TU five straight-set victories.
Erofeeva, ranked 78th in the country, made it a clean sweep in a third-set super tiebreak over Martinez-Romero. The senior member of the Golden Hurricane won 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7).
Tulsa stays home for one more match before heading on the road. TU will play host to No. 32 Arkansas at 3 p.m. Feb. 21.
