Tulsa Cruises In Singles, Beats Marshall 6-1

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The No. 26-ranked University of Tulsa women's tennis team took down No. 74 Marshall 6-1 Saturday afternoon at Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
The Golden Hurricane (16-3, 4-0 C-USA) won its 15th-straight match in Conference USA play, while the Thundering Herd (11-9, 1-1) has now lost three of its last four matches.
Marshall was the aggressor early, as the Thundering Herd swept the doubles point.
Junior Michelle Farley and sophomore Maria Sant'Anna were the first to fall, as they lost 8-3 to Kristina Koprcina and Maria Voscekova on the third court.
The No. 69-ranked senior doubles pair of Anastasia Erofeeva and Ewa Szatkowska lost 8-4 to Ellie Ball and Kara Kucin at the top of the lineup. Senior Bonny Davidson and sophomore Samantha Vickers lost 8-4 to Karlyn Timko and Kai Broomfield from the second position.
Tulsa flipped the entire match around during singles play, as the team won all six singles matches in straight sets.
No. 75 Vickers put TU on the board with a 6-0, 6-1 decision over Kucin on the second court. Farley topped Timko 6-1, 6-1 at the fifth position, and freshman Isaura Enrique took down Koprcina 6-2, 6-4 at the fourth flight.
No. 83-ranked Erofeeva clinched the team victory after she defeated Voscekova 6-1, 6-1 at the top of the lineup.
Szatkowska and Sant'Anna ended play with identical 6-4, 6-4 victories over Ball and Broomfield at the third and sixth courts, respectively.
Tulsa will stay in Kentucky to face Louisville at 9 a.m. April 8.
