Tulsa Lightweights to Compete at Dad Vail Regatta

Philadelphia, Pa. - The Tulsa lightweight rowers will compete this Friday and Saturday, May 10-11, at the Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia, Pa. TU will race in the Lightweight 4+ and Lightweight 8+ events.
TU will take on Temple, Bryant, MIT, Pittsburgh and Bucknell in the third heat of the Lightweight 4+ on Friday, with the top two teams in each heat advancing to the final on Saturday.
In the Lightweight 8+, a race that will qualify the top two teams for the Intercollegiate Rowing Association Lightweight National Championship, TU will take on Bucknell, MIT and Purdue in the Finals. The Hurricane has already faced Bucknell and MIT this season at the Knecht Cup, where Tulsa topped MIT, but trailed Bucknell by five seconds.
"The Dad Vail has been a great race for The University of Tulsa," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "The team is very focused and they know that racing in the lightweight national championship is on the line, but I have a lot of faith in them and am looking forward to the race."
