Women's Tennis Tops Pittsburgh, 6-1

WACO, Texas - The #25 University of Tulsa women's tennis team won convincingly over the Pittsburgh Panthers, 6-1 in dual play, Saturday afternoon at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center at Baylor University.
The win moves the Golden Hurricane to 6-1 on the year, setting up a big showdown tomorrow against the #6 Baylor Bears.
The Hurricane did not get off to an ideal start, after dropping a pair of doubles matches from the No. 1 and No. 3 positions by 6-4 scores, giving the Panthers the early advantage.
In singles play, Ksenia Laskutova (6-2, 6-3), Saana Saarteinen (6-1, 6-0), and Renata Kuricova (6-0, 7-5), each won their matches in straight sets, from the one, five, and six positions, respectively.
The other three singles matches weren't as easy for the Hurricane, as Marcelina Cichon had to come from behind before taking her match from the No. 4 spot, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Rongrong Leenabanchong won the closest match of the afternoon, 7-6, 6-7, 10-6, to take a hard-earned point for Tulsa.
Yelena Nemchen also saw her match go the distance, winning 6-1, 4-6, 6-3, to round out the afternoon.
