Tulsa Men’s Tennis Falls to No. 28-Ranked Michigan, 4-1, Sunday Afternoon

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The University of Tulsa men's tennis team lost to the No. 28-ranked Michigan Wolverines in a 4-1 decision Sunday afternoon at the Varsity Tennis Center. The No. 22-ranked Golden Hurricane falls to an overall 7-4 record, while the Wolverines improve to 9-2 overall.
 
Michigan's Jathan Malik and Kevin Wong (No. 2) defeated Carlos Bautista and Juan Matias Gonzalez, 6-4, before Tulsa bounced back to tie the doubles match score at 1-1 as Matthew Kirby and Okkie Kellerman defeated Alex Knight and Runhao Hua, 7-6. With the doubles point on the line, Dylan McCloskey and Dominic Bechard defeated Lubomir Cuba and Davis Crocker, 7-6, to take a 1-0 match lead going into singles play.
 
Singles was dictated by Michigan as Kevin Wong (No. 6) defeated Matthew Kirby, 6-2, 6-2, before Alex Knight (No. 2) defeated Carlos Bautista, 6-3, 6-3, to extend the Wolverine match lead to 2-1. Michigan's Runhao Hua (No. 5) defeated Francois Kellerman, 6-1, 6-4, before Carter Lin (No. 3) defeated Juan Matias Gonzalez, 6-2, 6-7, 6-2, to clinch the match at 4-1.
