Tulsa Women’s Tennis Falls to In-State Rival No. 17 Oklahoma State, 4-0, Tuesday Night

STILLWATER, Okla. – The University of Tulsa women's tennis team lost to in-state rival No. 17 Oklahoma State in a 4-2 decision at the Greenwood Tennis Center on Tuesday night. The No. 21 Golden Hurricane falls to 16-3 overall, while Oklahoma State improves to 14-4 overall.
 
In doubles play, Oklahoma State's No. 45 doubles team Katarina Adamovic and Valdica Babic (No. 3) defeated Saana Saarteinen and Mahitha Dadireddy, 6-2, to take a 1-0 doubles point advantage. OSU clinched the doubles point as No. 38 Viktoriya Lushkova and Carla Tur Mari (No. 2) defeated Rongrong Leenabanchong and Martha Matoula, 6-3, to take a 1-0 match advantage going into singles play. TU's Ksenisa Laskutova and Renata Kuricova (No. 1) trailed 3-4 to No. 23 Marai Alvarez and Kelsey Laurente before play was stopped.
 
Oklahoma State continued the momentum in singles play as No. 62 Viktoriya Lushkova (No. 3) defeated Rongrong Leenabanchong, 6-0, 6-0, to extend the match lead to 2-0. Carla Tur Mari (No. 6) defeated Martha Matoula, 6-3, 6-3, to give the Cowboys a late 3-0 match lead. Kelsey Laurente (No. 4) defeated Marcelina Cichon, 6-1, 6-4, to clinch the Oklahoma State 4-0 match victory.  
 
Tulsa returns to the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on Saturday, April 2, to take on conference foe Tulane at 12:00 noon.
