Tulsa Women’s Tennis Travels to Texas For Pair of Road Matches

WEEKLY NOTES

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa's 29^th ranked women's tennis team (17-3 overall) travels to Houston, Texas, this weekend for a pair of matches against Houston and 54^th ranked Rice. TU takes on UH on Saturday, April 9, at the Houston Country Club beginning at 11:00 .m., and then on Sunday, April 10, TU will face Rice at the George R. Brown Tennis Center at 12:00 noon.

Tulsa has been nationally ranked in the top-30 seven times this season. TU's sophomore Ksenia Laskutova enters this weekend nationally ranked No. 121 in singles play.

In Saturday's match, TU will face a Houston team that has compiled an overall 5-16 record this season. Last weekend, Houston defeated William & Mary, 4-3, before losing to conference foe East Carolina in a 4-2 decision. The Cougars have one athlete that is nationally ranked in singles play, in No. 102 Despoina Vogasari.

On Sunday, the Hurricane will take on a Rice team that has registered an overall 8-8 mark on the year, including a 4-0 decision over 49^th ranked USF. Rice's Katherine Ip is entering the weekend nationally ranked No. 66 in singles play.
