
Tulsa Volleyball to Continue AAC Play on Road at Houston and Tulane

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa Volleyball team is slated to play their first American Athletic Conference road contests over the weekend, traveling to Houston, Texas to take on the Cougars at 7 p.m. on Saturday before heading to New Orleans, La. to battle Tulane on Sunday.
Tulsa (12-2, 1-1 AAC) holds a 14-7 all-time series advantage over Houston (5-8, 0-2 AAC), splitting a pair of matches last year as both road teams emerged with victories away from home. The Hurricane are tied in the all-time series with Tulane (9-5, 1-1 AAC) dating back to 1986, 13-13. Tulsa and the Green Wave split their matches last season while TU has taken three out of the last four from Tulane.
The Hurricane (12-2, 1-1 AAC) opened up conference play at home last week, falling to preseason conference favorite Cincinnati in five sets before beating East Carolina in four on Saturday afternoon.
Tulsa will return to the Reynolds Center Friday, Oct. 7 to take on Temple at noon before wrapping up weekend play on Sunday, Oct. 9 against Connecticut.

2,000 CLUB…
Senior libero Brooke Berryhill became the second Hurricane player in program history to reach 2,000 career digs, eclipsing the mark in the first set against Cincinnati on Thursday evening. Berryhill currently sits second on the all-time career digs list at TU with 2,032 digs, 405 behind Jessica Adams (2009-12). With 18 guaranteed matches remaining on the Hurricane schedule, the senior will have to average 22.5 digs per match to surpass Adams.
RECORD WATCH…
Senior outside hitter Erica Bohannon needs just 30 kills to move into second all-time on TU's career kills list, as Kristien Van Lierop (1997-00) currently sits second at 1,510 while former three-time AVCA All-American Tyler Henderson leads the way with 2,525 career kills. Earlier this season, Bohannon moved into second all-time on the career list for total attempts and is sitting currently at 4,109.
DEFENSIVE DOMINANCE…
The Hurricane sit atop the national list for digs per set for the second straight week, leading the nation with 18.42 digs per set. Tulsa ranks 15th in the nation in opposing hitting percentage (.144) through 14 matches this season while Berryhill sits 21st in digs per set (5.22) and 25th in total digs (287).
