Tulsa Falls to Alabama in Blue Gray National Tennis Classic First Round

The Tulsa women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to Alabama at the O'Connor Tennis Center in the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic First Round today. The Golden Hurricane fell to 9-3 on the season, while the Crimson Tide moved to 5-3 overall.

TU will continue play in the Blue Gray against Utah on Saturday.

In doubles play, TU's Ksenia Laskutova and Martina Okalova dropped a 6-1 decision to Maddie Pothoff and Erin Routliffe at the No. 1 position. Rongrong Leenabanchong and Martha Moutoula and Marcelina Cichon and Mahitha Dadireddy fell, 7-5, in both the No. 2 and No. 3 slots, respectively, to give the Crimson Tide the doubles point.

Alabama's 116^th-ranked Routliffe picked up a 7-5, 6-1 win over Laskutova in the No. 1 singles position, while Andie Daniell tallied a 6-3, 6-2 win over Leenabanchong in the No. 2 slot. Danielle Spielmann earned the final point for the Crimson Tide with her 6-4, 6-4 decision over Dadireddy in the No. 3 position. Martina Okalova, Matoula and Cichon's matches were not finished.
