
Volleyball Travels to Illinois this Weekend

TULSA, Okla. – The Golden Hurricane finished the first weekend of action with a 1-2 record. Tulsa looks to bounce back this weekend at the Cougar Classic in Edwardsville, Illinois, for the Cougar Classic hosted by SIUE.
Tulsa opens the classic with a match against UMKC on Friday. The Hurricane has an 11-7 advantage in the overall series and won 3-0 in the last meeting in 2007. The Kangaroos are coming off of a 2-1 weekend, with victories over Middle Tennessee (3-0) and Marshall (3-0). Austin Peay defeated UMKC in straight sets, 3-0.
On day two, the Golden Hurricane battle the Cougars for the first time in program history. SIUE had a lot of success in the opening weekend, winning all three matches. They defeated Toledo 3-2, Fort Wayne 3-1 and Quinnipiac 3-0.
Tulsa closes the classic with a match against Wright State. The Raiders hold a 2-0 record overall against the Golden Hurricane, with the last match held in 1988. Wright State started the season with losses to Iowa, Long Beach State and Stanford.
