Golden Hurricane Heads to Ann Arbor for the ITA Kick-Off this Weekend

TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa women's tennis team returns to the court this weekend as it travels to Ann Arbor, Michigan, for the ITA Kick-Off. The Golden Hurricane (4-1) will join Michigan (1-0), Brown (1-0), and Gonzaga (1-0), as they will compete for one of 15 spots up for grabs for the ITA National Team Indoor Championship. The team that wins both of its matches will receive the bid for the Indoor Championship.
The Golden Hurricane will open the weekend with a match against Brown on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 1 p.m. The Bears defeated Rhode Island on Sunday, Jan. 21, 7-0.
The winner of the Tulsa and Brown match will play the winner of the Michigan and Gonzaga match on Sunday, Jan. 28, at noon. The losers of each match will play in a consolation match on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 8:30 a.m.
The ITA currently ranks the Wolverines No. 10. Michigan features two players inside the Top-75, Kate Fahey No. 33 and Chiara Lommer No. 74. The Wolverines knocked off Kansas, 6-1, on Sunday, Jan. 21.
The Bulldogs defeated Montana State, 7-0, on Sunday, Jan. 21. Gonzaga features one ranked singles player, Nevada Apollo No. 103. The Bulldogs have the No. 53 ranked doubles pair, Haruna Tsuruta and Alex Bourguignon.
