SURPRISE, Ariz. – The University of Tulsa women's tennis doubles team of Martina Okalova and Vera Ploner defeated South Carolina's Megan Davies and Rachel Rohrabacher, 7-6(2), 6-1, to advance to the finals of the doubles consolation draw on Saturday at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships.

With today's victory, the Golden Hurricane duo improves to a near-flawless 12-1 in doubles matches this fall.

Okalova and Ploner got off to a hot start, rallying to go up 3-0 in the first set. South Carolina responded with a run of its own, but Tulsa managed to edge out the South Carolina tandem, 7-6(2), due in large part to strong service play.

TU carried the momentum into the second stanza, securing the match over Davies/Rohrabacher, 6-1. The Hurricane tandem continued its strong day at the service line, to go along with winning two of four break points in the frame.

Ploner and Okalova will play their final match of the National Fall Championships tomorrow at 9 a.m. CT, as they will take on Virginia's Meghan Kelley and Sofia Munero Sanchez in the doubles consolation finals.
