TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa volleyball senior Emily Thorson has earned her third American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll nod of the season, the conference announced on Monday.

Her third honor comes after another standout performance in the team's final regular-season match of 2018, falling in a 3-2 thriller to Wichita State in Charles Koch Arena. The senior tabbed 22 kills on a .239 clip, found the floor for two service aces and picked up nine digs in the team's match against the Shockers.

So far in her final campaign, Thorson paces the Golden Hurricane with 359 kills and 32 service aces on the season. The Texas native ranks fifth in the American with 3.29 kills per set, along with being slotted No. 5 in the conference with her 32 service aces.

With the 22-kill performance, Thorson earned sole possession of No. 5 in TU history in the category with 1,138 kills, surpassing Hannah Stout, who finished her career with 1,116. The senior looks to overtake Kellie Culbertson for fourth-most in school history, who compiled 1,164 kills in her time with the Golden Hurricane.

As a team, head coach Ryan Wills' squad finished the regular season at fourth overall in the AAC, managing a 19-11 overall record and a 11-7 mark in conference play. The team finished ahead of preseason projections, as Tulsa was selected to finish sixth in the preseason coaches' poll.

Up next, the Golden Hurricane enters postseason play for the first time since 2013, squaring off at North Texas on Thursday, Nov. 29 in Denton, Texas. TU owns a 15-7 record all-time against the Mean Green, while defeating North Texas in a five-set match inside the Donald W. Reynolds Center on Sept. 26 this season.
