Tulsa Extends Winning Streak to Four in Sweep of DePual

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Ksenia Laskutova and Vera Ploner led the Hurricane as they both collected singles and doubles victories. Tulsa (9-2) swept DePaul (3-4), 4-0, on Saturday at the Schwartz Tennis Center on the Purdue campus.
In the No. 1 doubles match, Laskutova and Martha Matoula ran away with a 6-2 victory against Keisha Clousing and Patricia Lancranjan. Laskutova and Matoula improved to 6-2 in dual matches. Ploner and Martina Okalova pulled out a 6-3 victory, against Milica Tesic and Aspasia Avgeri at the No. 2 position. Okalova and Ploner are now 7-2 on the season in dual matches. The Golden Hurricane held a 1-0 lead after doubles play.
Tulsa extended its lead to 2-0 as Alexandrina Chinikova collected a walkover at the No. 6 position.
Ploner faced Tesic in the No. 5 singles match. Ploner stormed away with the first set, 6-2, before taking the second by the same score. Ploner improved to 5-3 in dual singles matches. Ploner put TU on top 3-0.
Laskutova took the opening stanza, 6-2, against Clousing. Laskutova won the second set of the No. 1 singles match, 6-2, and clinched the match for Tulsa, 4-0. Laskutova is now 9-1 in dual matches.
Tulsa extends its winning streak to four matches and is 9-2 on the year. The Golden Hurricane returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 18, as it battles the Purdue Boilermakers at 8 a.m.
