Tulsa Women’s Tennis Ranked No. 22 in First ITA Team Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. – The University of Tulsa women's tennis squad was ranked No. 22 in the first edition of the Oracle ITA Collegiate Tennis team rankings for the 2018-19 season, the organization announced on Wednesday.
With the placing, the Golden Hurricane has now been ranked inside the top-50 for the 13th consecutive year.
Head coach Dean Orford's bunch is coming off a 2017-18 season that reached new program heights, as the team advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 for the first time in program history.
This fall, TU posted a 28-14 mark in singles, while boasting a lofty 18-9 overall record in doubles. In addition, juniors Martina Okalova and Vera Ploner became just the fourth duo in team history to become the ITA Central Regional doubles champions after taking down Missouri's Mackenzy Middlebrooks and Ellie Wright, 6-4, 6-1.
The team kicks off the spring portion of its schedule on Saturday and Sunday, playing host to Oral Roberts, Louisiana Tech and Wyoming in the Hurricane Invite at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
