WICHITA, Kan. - For the first time this season, the Tulsa volleyball team has lost back-to-back matches in the American Athletic Conference, following a four-set loss at Wichita State [25-23, 25-14, 24-26, 25-19] on Friday at Charles Koch Arena. The previous three matches between the Golden Hurricane (15-13, 8-7 The American) and the Shockers (8-19, 5-10) had gone to five sets.

Wichita State would score the first two points of the third set, but Tulsa then rallied off three straight for a 3-2 advantage. The two teams would be tied five more times in the game, but the Golden Hurricane never trailed. Tulsa saw its largest lead at 11-5, but the five-point advantage would evaporate. A 7-2 run by the Shockers knotted the game at 20-20. Following three more ties, Callie Cook put TU ahead at 25-24. A Shocker error then cut the match deficit to one set.

Tulsa came out strong in the fourth set. The two teams continued to exchange points, before a 3-1 run gave Tulsa a four-point advantage at 14-10. The lead was short-lived, as the Shockers secured the next four points. The scoring run would also be the beginning of Wichita State tallying 11 of 15 points for a 20-17 advantage.

The two teams combined for 22 ties and seven lead changes. Friday's contest was the 46th all-time meeting between the two programs. Following the loss for Tulsa, Wichita State now holds a 32-14 advantage in the series.

The Golden Hurricane were held to a .089 attacking percentage. They finished with 48 kills on 157 total attacks with 34 attacking errors. Wichita State ended the match on a .220 attacking clip, recording 52 kills on 141 total swings with 21 attacking errors.

The Shockers held the advantage in assists (50-41), digs (64-61), and total blocks (11-6). Both teams had four service aces apiece.

Dilara Gedikoglu led all players in kills with 15. Taylor Horsfall chipped in 24 digs, to go with six assists, and a pair of service aces.

Roosa Rautio finished with her eighth double-double of the campaign. The sophomore setter tallied 17 assists and 10 digs. Mariah Pardo posted a team-high 18 dimes and had one service ace.

Cook had nine kills, while Maggie Hembree added eight. The two middle blockers, along with Maddie Rhoder, each ended with 1.5 total blocks (three block assists).

Tulsa wraps up regular season competition in The American on Sunday at Cincinnati. The Golden Hurricane and Bearcats (23-5, 14-1) will take to the court at 12 noon.
