Tulsa Earns Four Top-3 Marks in Final Day of Tulsa Fall Invitational

The Tulsa rowing team earned four top-three finishes in the final day of the Tulsa Fall Invitational on Saturday morning at the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest in Catoosa, Okla.

"It was a good second day for us," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "We fell a little short in the Eight, but they rowed well and did what we asked of them. The whole team did a solid job in what we were trying to do to end the fall. I am happy with the work done in the small boats. You can see they were aggressive and challenged even each other. Our training is in the right place and we've done what we've needed to do to get ready for the spring."

Lindsey Smith, Karen Undset, Veronique Ulrich, Daniela Fusco-House, Suzannah Hornett, Ella Stanhope, Bobbi Forster, Taylah Eder and Sarolta Papp captured a second-place finish in the Varsity 8+ with a time of 17:49.36. The TU boat finished three seconds behind the SMU 'A' boat's top time of 17:46.64, while Kansas 'A' was third (17:53.83). The Golden Hurricane 'B' boat was seventh in a time of 18:43.97.

Ella Stanhope and Suzannah Hornett registered a top finish in the Varsity 2x with a time of 21:00.62, followed by Helen Leigh and Katherine Stenning in second place (21:08.69), and Bobbi Forster and Becky Coleman in third (21:17.60). The TU 'B' boat was fourth, the 'F' boat was fifth and the 'H' boat was 11^th, while the 'C' and 'G' boats didn't race.

In the Novice 4+ race, Isabel Stutte, Alexis Ragsdale, Abby Wheeler, Marisol Delmgh Jaramillo and Ella Borrowman turned in a fourth-place time of 25:30.86.
