Tulsa Women’s Tennis Heads to Montana for Two Road Matches

Mont.The University of Tulsa women's tennis squad (7-5) continues its three-week road trip with a Saturday match against Montana, followed by a Sunday showdown with Montana State this weekend.
 
Montana heads into Saturday's match with a 1-8 overall mark. The team's lone win came a weekend ago against Big Sky foe Portland State, where the Grizzlies picked up its first victory of the season over the Vikings, 5-2.
 
To wrap up its trip to the Treasure State, Tulsa will face off with Montana State, who enters the weekend with a 3-5 overall record. The Bobcats are riding a two-match winning streak, picking up victories over Portland State and Seattle last weekend.
 
For Tulsa, head coach Dean Orford's squad boasts a solid 7-5 overall record in the dual season. TU went a flawless 3-0 in the Hurricane Invite, along with the team's best victory to date two weeks ago, taking down Arkansas 4-1 inside the Case Tennis Center.
 
The Golden Hurricane is led by senior Martha Matoula in singles, who boasts a 7-2 record in solo play this season. Matoula is the lone Golden Hurricane ranked in singles, coming into the weekend slotted at No. 87 in the latest Oracle ITA national singles rankings.
